Everyday, BC's top researchers and scholars are contributing to the latest developments in life sciences, education and the arts. Advanced networks support these innovations by providing the bandwidth, speed, data transport capabilities and flexibility needed for experimental, collaborative projects that would not be possible on the commercial Internet.
To demonstrate the use of advanced networks for experimental research, BCNET is building a database of case studies and profiles. They will help to demonstrate the challenges faced by various academics and the value that advanced networks bring for experimental research projects. We will explore various fields such as physics, computer science, genome sciences, medicine, ocean sciences and astrophysics. We hope that by sharing these stories, we will foster greater use of advanced networks and innovation in research and education.
