BCNET 2008 Advanced Networks Conference
April 22 & 23, 2008

BCNET has begun the planning for its 8th Annual Advanced Networks Conference on April 22 & 23, 2008 and it is anticipated to be bigger and better than this year’s past conference. With almost 20 years of experience to build on, BCNET is aiming to host a conference that will have something for everyone. This year’s conference drew close to 500 attendees and next year’s is projected to be another success. The Conference Logistics and Program Committees for the 2008 Conference are hard at work organizing a conference that focuses on the theme of next generation networks and mass virtualization.

The title of the conference is "Lighting the Path: Connections for the Future," as we look closer at the future of advanced networks.

Two main themes are the focus of the 2008 Conference: virtualization and next generation networks. To meet the increasing demands of research and higher education today, tools for virtualization and other innovations in next generation networks are being developed for advanced networks. Users are now able to collaborate and share resources virtually, thereby overcoming physical distances and resource constraints simultaneously. The networked world is evolving at such an incredible pace, that network architects are continually researching new ways to advance the future of next generation networks to meet the growing demands of all users.

Special thanks to the Program Committee members who are volunteering their time to help make the 2008 Conference a success: Chair Chris Golding, Susan Baldwin, Tri Chiem, Terry Fuller, Leo de Sousa, Jens Haeusser, Michael Hrybyk, Valerie Irvine, Ron Kozsan, Collin Leavett-Brown, Dianne Mackay, Lynda Pattie, Mark Roman, Kathryn Seeley, Alan Wagner, and Eric van Wiltenburg.

For more info, keep watching the BCNET website www.bc.net as the conference program develops.
