Announcement of New BCNET Board Members

BCNET welcomes new additions to the BCNET Board of Directors from its member institutions, industry and government.

Scott Owen, Director of Infrastructure at the Information Technology (IT) department at UBC. Scott brings to BCNET over 25 years of IT experience within both the public and private sectors; he has worked in software development, systems architecture consulting, and applications and infrastructure management.

Lynda Pattie, Director of Information Technology Services at the University of Northern British Columbia (UNBC). Lynda has over 15 years of experience working with Information Technology (IT) and has been principal in developing the IT infrastructure of UNBC since 1984. Lynda has worked in software development, healthcare and education, developing and implementing automated systems.

William Hopkins, Director of Information Technology Services at BCIT brings to the board over 20 years of leadership experience and knowledge in IT services and strategic communications, business development and management.

Don Cozzetto, President at the University of Northern British Columbia (UNBC). Dr. Cozzetto specializes in public administration, human resource management and aboriginal government, and has held numerous posts at universities in the United States.

Richard Keeler, Associate VP of Research at the University of Victoria brings extensive experience working on large scale research projects such as the CERN Laboratory in Geneva, Switzerland and the ATLAS Project.

David Schade, Group Leader at the Canadian Astronomy Data Centre, National Research Council. He has considerable experience as an expert in astronomical research and observations and works with a team in large-volume computer processing and storage of astronomy data sets.

Adding to the presence of industry members, Mike Hall, Vice President of Shaw Business Solutions has over 18 years of industry experience in telecommunications and Internet networking technologies.
