BCNET is actively promoting the implementation and usage of high-definition (HD) videoconferencing—an initiative to bring more effective, collaborative meeting tools to BC’s research and higher education community.

In 2008, BCNET distributed 19 HD videoconferencing units to BC’s universities. Equipment was also delivered to BC government provincial cabinet offices in both Vancouver and Victoria, supplying them with the technology to conduct high quality interactive meetings and reduce travel time and expenses.
